10/12 Today’s General Assembly – #occupyphilly @occupyphilly

Although there is dreary weather outside, I decided to go back today and help where I can. The live stream was up for the majority of the meeting and will continue to be broadcasting meetings at this location: http://www.livestream.com/occupyphilly – Roger is working hard to get more equipment so that we can broadcast 24/7. We also need a paid account from livestream so that we can have more than 50 viewers at a time.

The rain didn’t stop us.

There was great news from the city. They sent an official letter which further endorsed what we are all doing. They want to work with us and support our efforts. Regular meetings with the city and our mayor will be scheduled. Amazing. HISTORIC!

  1. do you think this movements gaining traction now that an actual established leader is throwing his support behind it?

    Is he hoping that this will just fizzle out?

    Does anyone there know what its going to take to get these people to go home?

    And will the people just give up before this movement gains traction? It will be a long December. Is there reason to believe that this year will be better than the last? I sure hope so.

    I have always put myself out there to help my fellow man, and now this seems like the opportunity to get it done on a much larger scale, and to effectively institute change that will bring meaning to the lives whose meaning has been lost.

    It is imperative that we remember this: that “WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America.”

    Nothing in our Preamble says anything about a segment of our population highjacking and controlling the resources for only their good. That was not the intended role of government, and is one of the many ways our government is broken.

    Lets get to work!
